This one-day symposium is
dedicated to the work and the life of Eric Hobsbawm as a tribute from some of
the many who have benefited from his insights and collegiality, in their work
as historians and as activists for a better world. It is hosted by the ‘Politics,
Aesthetics, Philosophy’ group in the School of Humanities at the University of
Brighton. Admission is free but places can be booked in advance via
